I can't remember which astronaut said it, Buzz, I'm not sure, but he said everyone should view the Earth from space. It is so beautiful and humbling, and made him realise how insignificant we are, put everything into perspective, and the long and short of it was perhaps we wouldn't be so keen and hellbent on destroying it with war and stuff...... it was SOMETHING like that, I can't remember the words but you get the gist.
