There is a theory by freud about the Oedipus complex, but he also has one for the daughter/father. must look it up. can't remember. In the song 'The End' By the doors, morrison messes with Freud's oedipus complex. 'Father' 'Yes son' 'I want to kill you', 'Mother, i want to &&&& you.'

The one for the daughter/father IS the Oedipus - oh no, wait - you are right Oedipus is for mother/son. I think the one for father/daughter is the Electra complex.

I read the interview at the link - I just think it is rather sad and quite sick (to me). It makes me shudder to think of this messed up girl sleeping with her own father - it is shocking to me.

You are right. Many a note I have written on that for assignments lol. I do not think that Freud meant it in the way that this current dad and daughter is doing it though. Little girls love their father and, when young, want to marry him and the converse is true with little boys. These feelings do not last through to adulthood. The rare ones that do are not healthy and very taboo. It makes sense since genetically. Who wants a kid with teeth growing out of his scalp?

You're right about the Electracomplex, Neesy, but it wasn't Freuds idea. It was his student C.G. Jung that came up with it obviously inspired by Freuds Oidipus-theory.
