Setting out on a mission to partake in our summer reading program. Been reading at home .But today actually got to attend the Archaeology program. yay me. My son and i went,as he looks forward to the Archaeology every year. The program is different from year to year. They have a drawing for the adults at the end of each of there event. I won tickets to Springhouse Theatre Company. It is two season tickets. For the 2015-2016 season. They do plays. Hoping to get time to use these tickets.
The adult reading program focus"s on Marvel comics. The teens or young adults focus on Dc. All superheroes. My son actually is in this program this year. My they grow so fast. He will be making his own comic. Drawing ,coloring.Should be an interesting time.

Hope you get to enjoy some of the plays. Wishing your son good luck with his comic design. Wonderful summer reading program. Wish more libraries did the same

Cool! Does he have a favorite superhero? You should come back when he's made his project and tell us about it!

My kids love sitting discussing and debating what super powers they'd like to have. All kinds of angles on it. If you had a tail, would you rather have a big spiky one you could impale people and knock them over with, or a prehensile tail for holding things and hanging from trees? Would you rather be able to fly or teleport? Is it better to be able to lift really heavy stuff, or shrink down super small? Wings, are feathery bird wings better, or leathery bat wings.

This conversation has been going on for ever. I don't remember a time when no one talked about it. And they always ask me what abilities I want and I have to think of a power on the fly. Something like, "I want to the power to Summon Fried Chicken! Any time at all, I want to be able to focus my mind and have Fried Chicken appear." Why, you ask? I would shoot it out in front of myself and surf it anywhere I wanted to go, like Aquaman, only I'd be solving world poverty and hunger issues at the same time...

Your library program sounds so cool! And that they do an adult program, as well! Nick does the kids' program here--this summer it's about science/scientists. There is a Teen program, too, but nothing for adults. We spend scads of time at the library, anyway, so it would be cool to win prizes :)
