Last night I had one of those dreams...maybe God was merciful or maybe He decided I had gone way too long without writing. Or maybe it was the goat stew and pinto beans followed by chocolate cake l ate last night. Anyway I had one of those dreams the kind that you feel to your very core and you just lay in bed after you wake up and try to hold on to that feeling as it disolves before you.

In the dream I was in some kind of writing class taught by famous writers (like you know whom) but I was very frustrated because it seemed like the students didn't want to write as much as play on their IPhones.

Then here came The Old Writer--he didn't look like SK but he gave me that feeling that is who he was. The Old Writer came to me and said why am I so worried that the other students weren't writing when I had more talent and creativity than all of them combined and I wasn't writing either.
And then he walked away and I was left with this amazement and realization that, "wow He really thinks I could be a good writer!"

Then this other writer came to me and said the same thing and a third offered me a job writing for a very famous liteary journal for a year. I was just blown away because these writers were trying to pass this torch to me before The Old Writer died--which he did at the end of the dream.

It wasn't the kind of the dream that the details were that crystal clear but the feelings it evoked were palpable after I woke up and even now when I write about it. I want to remember this dream I want to re-feel it every day as a reminder to always be writing....always be writing. It was one of the best dreams I ever had in my life.

Anyone else have a dream so deeply moving like this?

Those are the only KIND of dreams I have, but they're almost all nightmares. I want to forget the feeling.
I no longer dream of calls I have though. I did in the beginning. Now I almost never do, unless the dreams I DO have are those calls in code. Like when I dreamed of Freddy Kruger sawing out my stomach after we had a call for someone with an evisceration, and that's probably all I should say about it. Most people get grossed out about eviscerations. I do too if I don't breathe through my mouth.

I had one this night that i dedicate to Flake because it was about chocolate. Me and my mom and my little sister were out shopping (and it is here it start to get strange because i've never had a little sister, or a big sister for that matter). We started with the usual, bread and so on.. And then we came to where there were different sorts of boxes of chocolate... We argued about which to buy. Finally decided on Wienernougat (a kind of soft chocolate with tiny pieces of hacked walnuts inside, very Yummy!) But there were only two boxes left and someone had opened them and taken pieces from both boxes. So we looked over our shoulder and quickly started to move the pieces so we should get one full box. For some reason we did this very stealthely so noone should see us. When we were finished we had a full box and there were three pieces left in the other box. My Mom said we couldn't take them but i took them anyway and said to my sister it has to be our secret and that Mom would be angry if she knew. So we split the three pieces between us and told noone. They were eaten before we payed so we wasn't caught either. A rather nice dream and very clear but rather strange since i never had a sister and my mother would never act the way she did in the dream. You could persuade her to do a lot for me. I guess i was rather spoiled. But i never has these kind of dreams. Do you have any idea what, if anything, it means? And by the way, Flake ... I could still feel the taste when i woke up. YUUUMM.

 Oh wow, don't think I've ever had a dream dedicated to me before! Thanks!
 I wonder if I was your little sister? Oh no.. maybe this dream means that I am a bad influence on you?
Actually... I bet NEESY is the little sister in your dream, this sounds more like something cheeky that she might do! ;;D
(I'm just kidding, Neese.)

I dream a lot and I'm one of those dreamers who can remember most of their dreams. Luckily they are not all bad dreams, because I would be worried for my mental health. :suspect: Anyway just to say that my dreams are sometimes inspirations for my writing. But I can also say this. I dream a lot about trains. Sometimes they are big and old, and some other times they are coming from nowhere on a track where I stand and I almost get killed because I can't move away from the track. I'm thinking, maybe I was killed by one of those engins in another life, because I don't fear trains in real life. On the contrary, I love to travel on one of those. Just to say that not very far from my town, this train exploded and a lot of people were killed. It happenned last year in july and it's hard not to think about this horrible tragedy when you pass through Lac Mégantic, where I have a lot of friends. Luckily, none of them got hurt. . !st anniversery of the accident is coming soon. Last night, I again had one of those train dreams. How can I explain this? It's just so weird. :sorrow:

I've been fighting during sleep. Putting pillows against the windows near my bed and everything. I punched my Andy Wyeth print (Master Bedroom--dog in bed) two nights ago and was lucky it didn't come down and shatterglass everywhere.

This morning's nap I was folding some white silk longsocks. I woke up and was doing the same in the real, but without the socks. Then, asleep, I was holding a black rotary dial phone. I woke up and was holding one, until I realized I hadn't seen one of those in years, and it vanished...and I woke up with an empty hand.

Good times.

I learned a long time ago to sleep as far away from somebody as possible. He has the most vivid, violent dreams and you NEVER want to wake him up during one.
Maybe it would be helpful (if possible) to talk to somebody in your waking time?

I think you do fear trains in real life. Due to the nearby tragedy anyone might where you live. It becomes otherwise complicated, and so a conflict, for you due to your love of trains. Now you don't know if you can trust them anymore.

How do you feel about the word "change"?

I should've continued to encourage you to understand that the odds favoring another such accident, a train going off the rails anywhere near you, are about one in a billion. I think it safe to predict that if you step abroad a train your Life will not derail.

I've never dreamed of lucids. What are they like?..
They are very real. But ones are more bright than reality. Your consciousness works partly during them. You understand clearly some things. So sometimes you receive useful information during them. But "Master Dreams" dreams are more bright and real than lucid dreams. One moment in them you think "now will be..." and then this "will be..." appears in your dream.

I look at your smile... Once in lucid dream I was an angel and I felt as I moved by my wings.

It is similar to strong hypnopompic experience... From time to time I see hypnopompic images but not so strong experience.

I was playing football last night in a dream. It was practice, and I was holding a purple book and was supposed to be "the mark" for the defensive team to smoosh, but they just didn't get it.

Down, set, HIKE!

I tackled myself right out of bed, instantly woke up on my knees following a hefty KATHUD!. Could have been worse. Sleepwalking is probably next.

I will have you know I was raised as a strict Catholic with nuns in habits, fear of God and so on and so on... (I hear girls of this type are actually the worst, right? - all those repressed emotions!) SK himself married a Catholic girl, so nuff said :m_fan:

I bet that girl in Gerald's Game had some pretty good hypnopompic experiences!

I just read something interesting on-line. Someone described "Gerald's Game" as the anti-50 Shades of Grey! :m_clap:

I've learned that if I purposely hold on to one little piece of a dream as I'm waking up, the rest will come flooding back, too. Just one little bit is like a tether that keeps the two worlds linked. Otherwise, the whole thing's gone as soon as I'm fully awake.
I'm going to keep this in mind for those rare, er... special dreams. :biggrin2:
