The original release date was 9/22/98 but we get the author copies before that so just happened to be when Steve decided to sign the staff, friends, and family books. :smile2:

Silly question - but did he feel honored but shy about doing this? Maybe a too personal to ask from you. I can picture him thinking, 'what's all the fuss' just me, you guys.

Not sure I'm answering the right question but he does this for nearly all his books so although it was his birthday that he decided to do it on for that book, it wasn't out of the ordinary. We have a list of "usual recipients" that he gives signed books to. It doesn't happen for every book as there are times when he's not in Bangor around release time or is just too busy with other projects to take time out for that.

I guess I was asking if he is still feels honored and a bit strange that people want his autograph. As humble as he seems.

Especially not after you admitted you already have one! ;;D
Yes, I have a signed book. But it's not a personalized signed book. And actually it's not for me, it's for my better half who always wished for something personal from the man. She says his novels helped her to escape a little during a tough time in her life (and before you say anything... it was before I came into the picture. ;):))

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt on that one. :D

Ha! No, not at all. If I was, I failed at my job! ;-D
Just look at Steve's last name in the authentic signed examples!
You are right. I did a Google search, and if these are authentic, he appears to leave off the "n" altogether! (I do the same thing when signing my name)

Wow, those are very different from what I have. Most of my signatures look like he writes his last name as Knig. It's just the way it comes out.
If those in your post are real, he must have been really tired or in a hurry!
