All you folks who hate falling back need an attitude adjustment. :wink: Change is good… even time change! Shake up the ol' routine-- light candles and lanterns in the early twilight, take walks by the evening moon, settle in early with a good book, a blanket, and a warm cuppa tea or cocoa. Also, we Stephen King fans can especially savor those long, eerie afternoon shadows that, thanks to the time change, show up around 3:30 in the afternoon. Get your zen going, people… :biggrin2:

I'm all for this. I like the hours the way they are during fall and winter. I don't like it being light until 9:30 in the summer, especially since I wake up very early for work and have to go to bed when it's still light out during the summer months.

Blue= Places DST exists.
Orange= Place it used to exists but no longer does.
Red= Places it has never existed.

We Americans gotta stick to everything no matter what.
That's why we're one of three countries who still haven't switched to the metric system.
"But we like multiplying and dividing by 12, 16, 5280, 36, and all those other numbers not based on 10!!! Don't change it and make it 100 times easier!"

If you look at that map, the vast majority of the western world still follows DST, not just America.

Oh, I know. Just sayin Americans don't like change much. Even if there were legitimate reasons to not switch times, most Americans would fight it just because it's change...one of the reasons why we've never switched to the metric system.:)

The metric system thing makes me crazy. Why haven't we switched yet? With as much world wide trade that we do, you would think that we would want a uniform system. Sure, there is a bit of a learning curve but a system based on 10 is sure a lot easier than a system based on 12. I really don't know what happened because when I was in middle school (70s), they were teaching it to us and telling us that within 10 years, this would be the new system.

Did the Republicans get ahold of it and put the kibosh on it? :a24:
