I think Dana said something the other day about wanting to see some photos of the leaves turning. I've snapped a few pics of the property next door to me, which is a gorgeous showcase for New England scenery. I will post the pictures as they looked today, with the leaves starting to turn, and will continue to post as the turn more vivid. I love fall colors, so show off your foliage photos here!

Well looks like we did not get very many shots of the fall foliage so far - today is a leisurely drive back up North to Winnipeg so if we see some really stunning colours we'll try to pull over and take a picture or two with our phones :m_photo:

Ta-dah!

Not the greatest pic however there is a story behind it - we tried to find a hotel room, not having bothered to call ahead and make a reservation :tounge::stupid:

It turned out the UNM University of Northern Michigan was having a reunion, plus there was a wedding on that weekend, as well as the tourists who wanted to see some "painted rocks" or whatever.

We ended up travelling backwards (East) 100 kms or 60 miles just to find a place. It was called the Evening Star and although I had a bit of trepidation about it, it turned out to be very clean, with fluffy towels etc.

No hair dryer, coffee maker, shampoo or soap etc. but it at least had a fridge, two soft comfortable beds, etc.

In short - a roof over our heads for the evening!
:tickled_pink:

When you've been driving all day, that seems like a real luxury. :m_tired:A nice hot shower helps, too.:m_shower:

p.s. that is our (well, my husband's that is) black Durango - I'm going to tell him that driving it was doing him a favour - stops everything from drying out, as it had been sitting a lot for the last five years!

This would make a nice profile pic, Neesy. Or the one of you in Toronto.
The one of me in Toronto? With that big ole flabby chin? Yikes! (I'm assuming you mean the one from the Sleeping Beauties thread?)

Well, guess I have to get used to the fact that I am getting older.

Just today I was talking with someone about the pros and cons of taking the Canada Pension Plan at age 60 vs. waiting for 65. I am still on the fence regarding that decision.
p.s.
Thanks - I did like the one from Marquette Michigan - Josh took that when we were having lunch by the water :biggrin2:
