I had to Google that. It was in the 1997 season, back when they were divisional rivals and the Jaguars were good. Jacksonville was up 23-21 when Pittsburgh attempted their ill-fated field goal. The only difference is that OT would have been impossible.

I tried to find it on youtube this morning and couldn't find anything. Of course I didn't remember what year it was or anything else about it except the ending. I'm glad you found the info so that I know I'm not completely crazy. ;-DJacksonville was pretty good for a few years back then. They may have even played in the AFC championship game once or twice (although I'm fuzzy on that). I think Tennessee was good too in those days.

I hear reported that Gronk will be back to playing before the season's end. And with my luck he'll make his return for the game against the NY Jets. :(

Tony Romo came back just to beat the Dolphins so it's only fair. ;-D

Speaking of the mess called The Dolphins, they fired the O-Coordinator yesterday. I'm not sure why they just didn't fire everyone a few weeks ago. This one piece at a time firing is kind of strange. Also, one of the head coach candidate names I heard was Eric Mangini. Why are they always hiring rejected Jets (they have one in the front office so he's probably a Mangini friend)? Looks like I'm in for many more years of bag wearing.

I watched the first half of the Jets/Dolphins game. Ran out at halftime to pick up some medicine for the wife. Had to go to three pharmacies until I found one that had her medication. Couldn’t find the game on the radio. Returned home with about 6 minutes left in the game. After settling down to watch the remainder, our wonderful CBS station decides stop showing the NY/Miami game and puts on another game in their final quarter. One of the few times I get the chance to see the Jets win big and nope... No Scoop For You. :(

Well, Mangini is doing a bang up job for the 49ers, isn’t he? :) The problem being his schemes are too complicated, and he doesn’t build player confidence. I wish there were a way to get Belichick to retire and replace him with Mangini. Were's that lamp with the genie when you need it?

The last thing Ryan Tannehill needs is something complicated. I like Ryan and he has skills and is tough BUT I am getting the impression that he isn't the brightest bulb in the box. I don't mean to knock his intelligence but there are only a handful of extremely intelligent QBs that can expertly read defenses and make good quick decisions and audible out of trouble. Ryan isn't one of these QBs. I think he can succeed but he needs a good running game and needs to be protected (which is something the Dolphins are having a very hard time with). Instead of throwing more complicated offenses at him, the Dolphins need to get him an offensive line. Ryan can't be a 50 throw a game QB.

All you aspiring NFL officials out there please take note:

In the accompanying photo, #99 is not being held. Repeat: This is not holding.

NY
The NY Jets are playing at the NY Giants this weekend. Has me worried a bit with the Jets being “away” and all. :)
Makes me worried even more, because you never know which Eli is going to show up. If Giants lose, I'd have to replace that brown paper bag with something more durable, something that will last 4 years at least.
