'Friends' fans uncover airport security scene deleted after 9/11

This was originally scheduled to air two weeks after 9-11 so, obviously it didn't. But they have recently released the scenes.

I remember reading that the twin towers were in the beginning credit sequence and were removed after 9/11. Makes sense I guess in order to keep current.

A lot of TV shows had the Towers removed from credits, or even taken out of scenes later.

Can't think of any examples except for "Sex and the City" right now.

edit: I am pretty sure "The Sopranos" did too. SNL?

Spiderman. I think it was filmed but hadn't been released yet, and they had to change that scene.

Loved "Friends", that was a good clip!

The towers being omitted from "the Sopranos" opening credits baffles me, since nothing else changes (not even Tony's shirt). Besides lack of WTC it's the exact sequence throughout every season of the series.

I noticed this right away. We are currently binge watching "the Sopranos" and I was curious as to what they would do with the opening in the episodes that aired after 9/11. I think they should've kept the WTC shot OR redid the entire opening.

I understand why the Twin Towers were deleted from things after 9/11, but it made me abit mad and it baffled me because we were all running around saying 'We Will Never Forget.' and yet there we were, deleting any images of those buildings from our screens/minds. I don't know what they will have to do to the Jessica Lange version of King Kong, in which Kong climbs up those towers at the end........
