I'm having difficulty remembering this as well. Thank you.
Morgan -would you believe in the midst of all the crap coming from all directions, our elderly dog got very sick. Took her to the vet and she was so diabetic the vet recommended we think about putting her down. Well, the Ogre was like: for God's sake, I am not burying the kids dog and my dad in the same week. So he took her back to the vet and demanded they help us do something. So we started her on insulin shots, had to hire a special house / pet sitter so we could go to Florida for a week for the funeral, but she's bounced back. She is not totally regulated yet, but we're getting there. Twice a day insulin shots, saved her life.

That's so great - a positive thing to come out of all this! Maybe she just needs a bit more exercise? (God - I should talk, eh?) I hope your little dog does well - I am happy for you Holly

Once the dog is regulated things should go well. I am so glad the vet worked with you. Aren't pet sitter who care wonderful!

Oh yea, that girl could certainly use more exercise, but she's 12 - she likes to nap and play "rub my belly".

Yes and yes - the pet sitter was amazing, though pricey, but we couldn't just take off and leave her with someone who didn't know how to handle a diabetic dog. It was such a relief to know she was in good hands.

At some point (when the timing is better for you and your family) you could look into colostrum therapy and a grain-free diet for your precious dog.

Sometimes life has a way of ganging up on an individual. They say bad things happen in threes. Sometimes it's three cubed. The year 2010 was like that for me. I pray your griefs cease, Holly.

I had a cat diagnosed with diabetes. I gave her insulin shots daily for a long time. Good job, Holly, taking care of your animal.

Whew - don't I know it? Let's just say Oct killed me. In 2010, my mother had 4 sisters die - my aunts. One in Feb, one in April, one in July and one in Nov. I don't know how she got through it -lots of prayers and no doubt good meds. Life can be so hard sometimes.

That's great to hear. And happy it worked with the vet too so you could keep her. Many prayers being said for you and your family and
your dog too.

I got an update from my aunt and dad about my mom, she is doing a little better. She posted like ten things in a row on FB. So she seems full of beans today which makes me feel better. She's a tough lady, thanks for the prayers I truly believe in their powers. And I am praying for all of you too, all my friends on the SK message board and all their family, friends and pets :)
