My mom took him to the vet and they drained his anal glands, flushed out his ears, and gave him some pain pills for arthritis. I'm so relieved, as old as he is i'm still not ready to say goodbye to him. Hopefully he'll start feeling better and sleeping at night.

...all I ask is we don't use the term "anal glands" anymore....I'm a bit whoopsy....

I would like to ask for prayers for a 10 year old little girl in my town. Her father beat her mother to death yesterday and the little girl witnessed it. The little girl managed to get outside the house with a cell phone and called 911 but her mama was already gone when police arrived.

I just cannot even imagine. That poor little girl.

He is in custody.

I do not know her name, but she will need all the vibes and prayers she can get.

There is so much grief. Many people (and critters) who need our prayers. Something I've been praying for (adding to a very long list) the last few days in particular, is for all the children going back to school. The kids with special needs who try harder than everyone else, the children who are victims of bullying, etc. Life is difficult enough. It breaks my heart that such sadness has to start so young.

I have a niece with severe dyslexia who just started the sixth grade and reads at a third-grade level. The older she gets, the more self conscious she becomes about it. Just found out the other day that my cousin's son had to transfer schools because of severe bullying. He is so gentle, kindhearted and smart, which is probably why he's being bullied.

Prayers for all the children. Prayers for everyone who needs them.
