Just a heads up to all my cyber-buds that I will not be around for awhile again starting the week of January 23rd.

I will be starting a marathon stretch of classes that week. My goal is to complete six classes between January and the end of May. That's 3 classes in each of the next two eight week semesters. 3 nights a week of 5 hour classes after putting in a full day at the office. Not to mention the homework / reading / paper-writing that goes along with it. I think I must be nuts :hammer:

It will be a ton of work but it will complete the coursework for my degree. I won't have much (any) social life for the next 4 months and will not have time to visit the board. I want to be able to graduate in May and take some time off before I decide if I want to pursue my MBA.

Just wanted to let y'all know so no-one thinks I've fallen ill, left in a huff, ran away and joined the circus, was abducted by aliens, thrown in the pokey, etc. ;;D

I will be around for the next few weeks leading up to the 23rd so get your fill of 'ole SwiftDog while you can :D

Oh yeah, I remember those days doing my BSc: no sleep, eating junk, working full-time, studying part-time. I used to get up on Mother's Day, wish my mom well, then head to school for the day!

Stick with it; it'll be worth it in the end. Best of luck.

Good luck... you’ll need it. I did 24 credits a year in college, in the evenings, for all of my BA degree (3 classes in fall, 3 classes in spring, 1 class - three times a week in early summer and late summer) -- other than my freshman fall semester which was basically partying. That was after working an average of 50 hours a week and with a family. You are correct... your life is over. I can’t tell you how many times I fell asleep reading textbooks. I found the trick to keeping my sanity was to take one hard class, one average difficulty class, and one easy cake class per semester. I graduated top of my class* (*mid-summer class with only 3 students graduating ). For my MBA degree I only did 2 evening classes each semester and I took 4 years off between the BA and starting my MBA. And the key for me was taking good notes in class and figuring out what the professors tested on. And learn when to say 'good enough.'

It's been a circuitous 22 year journey to this point! Starts, stops, a lengthy rock and roll hiatus, and parental illness have been roadblocks but the finish line is now within sight :victorious:

Good luck! You have kept your eye on the prize, and it's now achievable.

No distractions! This is the important road. Social media is not necessary for life. Keep it in your back pocket and take it out when the task is done.

All the best, sir!
