So far biggest thing I have had to get used to is NOT doing job quickly so I can move onto something else...

Farming is a WHOLE different world than what we call "public" work...

Late arrivers at parties are usually the cherry on top...

Not sure if this applies to your current job, but they used to tell us to walk around with a piece of paper in your hand (not toilet paper! ) as it makes you look busy

We (my family) have done carpentry work in winter for many years when my daddy was alive...

He said always keep a broom handy when not driving nails...

How is the new job going? Still sending good vibes your way. Has weather improved for the farming? Daily rains here --Fl in summertime.

Still finding my way Spideyman...Got to work outside almost all day today so that made it better (even if it was 92 degrees). Been out there all my life so felt more at home...

Still want to get jobs done too quickly for crew I am working with but adjusting...

Fixed gas lawnmower one of them accidently put diesel in and rewired dropcord that they couldn't figure out how to fix.

Principal calls me farm smart so guess that's good. (He also found out we were both at UNC-CH at same time. Not sure if he was more surprised by us being there together or that I actually went to college... ) Tomorrow is last 6AM start for me. Next week I start my regular schedule of 9-4:30.

As far as weather, anybody know how long a cubit is? Starting on the ark and my stick rule doesn't convert...Had over 4 inches of rain last week and another 2 1/2 in storms so far this week...

You have good work ethics. You know what needs doing and get it done. Not so with many in the workforce today. Farm Smarts are better than inexperience paper smarts. So glad you could work outdoors. Nature is the best workplace. Hope the new hours will make it easier.
