I know from sad experience how hard it is to lose a four legged family member. So my thought are with all of you. When our cat Furry died the three of us moped around the house for days. Eventually we went to the local shelter and filled the kitty shaped hole in our family. We never for get Furry, but Callie is a wonderful addition and I hope eventually you get a wonderful new edition, too.

to some, it may seem maudlin that we are so affected by a cat.

You see now, anyone thinking that would really piss me off. When you live with an animal, interact every day, make them part of everyone's life and fully involve them in family activities, they are a full member of the family and leave a family member sized hole when they are gone.

...words are but a poor substitute for how I truly feel, reading all the care and concern...we all thank you...the circle will be completed again, but not for a bit...we leave it open, much as the Armed Forces do with their "missing Man" formations....there will be a kitty duo again, but right now-our other kitty. Ms. Pink, is soaking up the extra attention and basking in it....

Now that is one non stressed cat in that picture, good parenting=happy pet and that cat is happy. He's somewhere now eating cat nip and endless tuna and regaling the other cats with stories about his Dad the Giant who took great care of him and played with him and loved him. They may think it's a tall tale(see what I did there?)but the stories are wonderful because he had such a good life. At least that's what I like think they do.
I'm very sorry for your loss Scott and for your family too. He was probably one of the luckiest cats that ever lived :cheerful:

...bless you all...yeah, he was loved...he would climb up on my lap, as you see in the picture and just assume crash position-then we he woke up-there was the obligatory tickle, wrassle and claw match...best part was, when I went to bed...he would crawl up on my chest, wrap his paws around my hand and go to sleep...
