I like Zardoz, too. Sometimes critics are too demanding, imho. I haven't seen Nught of the Comet, and Lifeforce is way too distracting for me to know if I like it.Night Of The Comet, Lifeforce, and Zardoz.

Shudup..It's a chick flick, what do you expect?
I didn't care much for Castaway the first time, though I loved the crash sequence and always will. The second time around I was totally captivated by Hanks. The Phantom of the Opera with Gerard Butler and Emily Rossum.
Castaway
Sleeping with the Enemy
No sh1t!!! Which part?I'm in U.S. Marshals as an extra!!!!
So I'm glad you like it!!!

Sleeping with the Enemy is a good thriller, imho.
I haven't seen Bill and Ted and don't know if it's one the critics pan, but My Cousin Vinny is well thought of. It's one of my faves anyway.Bill and Teds Excellent Adventure and My Cousin Vinney. Oh yes, and the first Christopher Reeves Superman movie.
I'm pretty much the same about old Burt. The original Smokey is plain great, imho, especially Gleason.Anything with Burt Reynolds. White Lightning, Gator, Cannonball Run and its sequel, the Smokey Trilogy, pop the damn corn and get cozy.
That's the one with Alan Alda and Ellen Burstyn, yes? Saw it at the theater when it first came out. I like it.The Four Seasons
I doubt I'll watch a Rocky sequel. I love the original but just aren't a big Rocky fan otherwise. I like Stallone in Copland and Get Carter.Rocky III. The cheesiest slow motion beach run ever. Love it.
No. Ellen Burstyn not in it. THat's Same Time, Next Year which is also amazing. That's the one with Alan Alda and Ellen Burstyn, yes? Saw it at the theater when it first came out. I like it.
Based on what I've seen of him so far, I assume Jude Law is excellent in everything he does. He's amazing in the remake of Sleuth.I liked Jude Law! The acting and script were painfully bad, but sometimes I like a movie that tries so hard to be good, but is really bad.
Oh okay, then I'm thinking of Same Time Next Year. Yes, The Four Seasons is real good.No. Ellen Burstyn not in it. THat's Same Time, Next Year which is also amazing.
Four Seasons has Alan Alda, Carol Burnett, Rita Morena, Sandy Dennis, Len CAriou (Sheriff from Secret Window), Jack Weston, Bess Armstrong
I didn't care for Signs first run through, but liked it second time. That's possibly due to my liking Gibson and Phoenix a lot.I am a big fan of the movie 'Signs' but I am fully aware that a lot of people don't like it, in fact flat out hate it. I was having a looong discussion with someone who just couldn't believe I enjoyed it as much as I do. I argued it was a success at the box office, that it got a decent critical consensus but I've not really met anyone who likes it.
I have a few other films like that but it got me thinking, do you guys have any guilty pleasures in either books or films that you know are not universally popular but you love all the same?
What is Signs???????????
I usually don't like romantic comedies but found myself liking The Holiday with Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz in the leads. Their romantic interests were Jude Law and Jack Black.
That's sometimes true for me, too. I prefer to listen to regular Joe's than professional critics, with the exception of Roger Ebert whose wavelength I seemed to be on.I'm a movie fan in general ... and usually if the critics don't like something I know I probably will...
