Getting things ready for a formal Dumb Supper tomorrow. My brother and sister-in-law are here this year so I wanted to have one with them and my daughter and her roomie. It'll be the first formal ritual I've done in a while so I'm rusty. Trying to find dark-colored foods is hard! My sis-in-law finally found some purple potatoes today -- damn hard to find (and forget purple sweet potatoes!). We're having a roast and a small ham (because pork is traditional and beef is dark... ish), sweet and sour red cabbage, beets and dark broccoli. We're making dark chocolate cupcakes after dinner tonight. Finding black tableware wasn't as hard as we'd feared -- Wally World had all of it! Go figure.

Anyway, it's a nice way to honor one's ancestors and those we lost this past year.If there's anyone you'd like us to include, please let me know. Also, you can do this yourself. Don't have to go all in but it's pretty easy. This website outlines it.
