I think I’ll try a recipe for hot cross buns, mainly because it has the word “easy” in it

I still dye Easter eggs even thou my son 17. I will forever dye them. We also have few hard boil not dye ones...that we hide for the dogs.

Ooops - see my post in "What Did You Do Today" - I caved and bought six hot cross buns from the French bakery at the end of my street!
I still may attempt them this weekend as I'm pretty sure I have the ingredients.

Sorry, guys. My time was quite constrained on Friday, and I didn't get to this thread until Saturday.
DJ, DiO, your stories warmed our hearts. Thank you for sharing.
Our standard Easter is being a bit muted this year. After all the traveling I did in 2017 (and a couple times so far in 2018), it turns out that Grandma is now the one who's gone, taking care of the Youngest's domicile while DIL is post-surgery.
We've always done an Easter egg hunt. Growing up, the kids enjoyed it so much, even into adult years. Then once the grandkids started coming, the tradition expanded. It's been adults hiding the rabbit eggs (what!?!?) at our house for the kids for many years now, even with the teenagers always wanting to have an egg hunt. We've been living at this same house now for 18 years, and it seems like we can always find a couple places that will stump them. For a while.
So with Grandma gone, and with a couple of the nearly-grown kids working after-school hours in restaurants (don't talk to our family about "lazy" Millennials), we're having trouble putting it together this year. Grandma gets back on April 3, and we're going to have an Orthodox Christian-timed Easter (April 8) for the eggs and ham. The family has gone from largely religious to largely secular in my lifetime, so the timing is much less important than the occasion itself. (Heck, the very name "Easter" isn't all that religious, for that matter, or at least not Christian-religious.)
And we'll probably have it at Daughter's house rather than ours. That's fine. Traditions evolve through generations.
