Were having a very warm period here now. About 32 during the day and 25-26 during the night. And thats Celsius. It has completed screwed up my sleep. AC are not common here because we doesn't need them usually but now i can't sleep and am lying on my bed trying to sleep and sweating like a pig in spåite of not wearing more than the minimum. Any tips on how to sleep in spite of this heat?I heard of a tip i'm gonna try tonight. I have put my sheet in the fridge, stuck in a bag so it will be colds but nort moist when i take it out. We'll see how it works out. Any suggestions welcome.

Hi.

My brother works in triple digit weather. He swears by this:

Keeps him cool all day.

Hope it helps.

Peace.

Wet your hair before you go to bed.
Stick wet, wrung-out washcloths in a plastic bag in the freezer. When you're hot, pull one out and put it on your neck or forehead.
An electric fan will work wonders - put a bowl of ice in front of it and feel the homemade "air conditioning".
Yes definitely the wet face-cloth in the freezer and then add to back of the neck, thing. Ahhhh, heaven.
(Not that it gets all that heat-wavy here... I guess an alternative would be moving to NZ. :biggrin2: )

Normally it doesn't do that here either. This is the first time ever that the national weather bureau actually gone out with a warning about the heat. But i think it has been about 8-10 days in a row with temperatures above 30 during the day. An occasional one can happen but normally the highest we reach an ordinary summer is 25 or so and then it is colder during the night so you can sleep. I would love to see NZ by the way. A part of the world that is totally unexplored to me.

It sounds like we have a similar climate then. It is unusual for the temps to get over 31 or 32 here... and they would be the one or two spikes mid summer. Mostly it is around 26-29 during the height of our summer... perfect.
