My name is Scott and I am from Oklahoma...
I became a King fan when I first read The Stand in 1978.. I was a young man then working for my keep on a farm in upstate N.Y. doing odd jobs and such.. the summer was a hot one that year and I was full of piss and vinegar as they say.
I was a Tolkien reject... much more intent on the teaching of Moorcock, Blue Oyster Cult and hard edged fantasies. I read that book 3 times that summer... I could feel the words then ...peeling my skin back layer by layer as the imagery of the dark man entered my veins like sweet welcomed poison.. only to have my soul saved by the unselfish actions of Nick and his friends..... You see the willing sacrifice was not just to satisfy the power of good. It was also to redeem us lowly humans....

Ok..Ok! I regress.. I always seem to get ahead of myself and ramble on stupidly about things. Please forgive me.
I came here to check out some of the goings after seeing Mr.King has produced another fable. I'm much older now than then and since the day I was given the volume that consumed my summer that year I have read most all of Mr. King's works and loved them all. I am a huge fan of the Dark Tower series. Christine is one of my very favorite King novels... I enjoyed the film but like most all of his works that made it to the screen, Christine's Evil was best envisioned in my mind by the descriptive quality of Mr. King's pen.
I never met the writer but I feel a kinship to his writings and this passage from a favorite lyric seems appropriate to live on this site:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am becalmed
Lost to nothing
Warm weather and
Holocaust

Left to die by two good friends
Abandoned me and put to sleep
Left to die by two good friends
Tears of God flow as I bleed

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Over the years I have collected many, many copies of the works and also many more volumes from other worthy pens.
With so much on my plate I now find so many of them just collecting dust.. instead of being enjoyed by others as I did. So I have decided to start paring down my collection and will sell some of them. Thank you... for having me...
