Hello and just know that Giant DOES have mental problems. He also farts a lot.

The mental issues which you thought were being attributed to Mr. King were probably meant towards his staff. Primarily the office staff. Primarily one named Marcie or Mandy or something like that.

BTW, this thread didn't prove in any way that someone can come in and misunderstand the social climate of a group that has interacted for years with each other. My name is Tarryn.I reside in Jogannesburg,South Africa.I fell in love with reading when I was twelve and read Shirley Conrans Savages.I cant afford to travel so books have become a means to exploring other cultures and countries.The first Stephen King book I read was thinner,over the years MR King has become my absolute favourite.Is it true he is mentally ill?

Mentally ill? Where in the world did you read that? If he is mentally ill, then I would like to be exactly like that myself. I know he has a marvelous imagination and is an excellent story teller but this is the first time I have heard him described the way you put it.
