I only registered because I was trying to remember the name of a horror short story about a young boy home from school due to the snow and things being "canceled." I searched for it and found this thread, which didn't have the answer. Short Story Question | The StephenKing.com Message Board

The story is "Snow Cancellations" by Donald R. Burleson. It's from 1989, and also made it into a couple of anthologies in 1990. After finding the answer I wanted to come back and let people know in case it was still bugging them. http://www.iblist.com/book17319.htm
