Old, I mean, old time collector here (like from the Internet's beginning in the 1990's). Just thought I'd give a shout out to any old time collectors on here and a "well, hello there!" to any and all "youngster" on these forums. ;)

Let's see...We got started collecting Stephen King's works, etc., when my husband found a 1st edition of The Shining in a used bookstore for a few bucks. Shortly afterward, we discovered the SKIN newsletter, then SKEMERS. And Beahm, Spignesi, Overlook Connection, Camelot Books--the list goes on. We made some great friends along the way, got to meet King on several occasions, contributed to many King-related projects, ran a King website, wrote about King's works for an e-zine, and spent a ton of money on our addiction. You know how it is. It starts out with first editions, then moved on to limited editions, 1st appearances in magazines, 1st appearances in anthologies, etc. Eventually, it became "ooh, I gotta have that!" LOL

Now, I just think back to those days and smile. :)

Well, guess that's all for now.

WELCOME.

For the ultimate SK challenge... try conning a personalized/signed novel from the man. I've been trying to get one out of Ms Mod for years. I'm no closer to my goal then I was on day one, although I've had threats of chainsaws and wood chippers if I ever step foot anywhere near Bangor, ME. :)

Why should you get one,you are a diabolic, evil man(or woman, sorry chumly, never checked your profile..) who does nothing but stir up hate and discontent..and for that, you have my gratitude, cause it is funny as hell and keeps things interesting..
But I deserve the book more because, well, dammit, just because..though all I would do with it is go,gee, his handwriting is really sloppy.. ;)

LOL. That would be my luck... I do all the work and someone else reaps the benefits. I'm thinking she might get you one just to spite me. :)
