I'm writing hoping that Stephen reads this. The FAQ says he sometimes does. My boyfriend bought me "Dr. Sleep" for Christmas and I loved every minute of it. 32 hours in 2 days. It was fun finding out what had happened since that awful winter. I've been a constant fan but seeing all of the things you've written that I haven't read, I can't truthfully call myself "Constant Reader"(glum face).
Connor, my boyfriend's son, is an ADHD child and as a result, has had a very difficult time learning to read, among other things. When he was 8 or 9, he used to beg me to tell him spooky stories. Following your example, I made up little stories that pulled him in, kept his attention just long enough...sorry to say I didn't help with the sleep without a night light project. He still does. In the effort to find something that would intrigue him into reading, I put little bits of those stories (the ones that his face said were good) into a short story on paper. It took me a month to write and I got lost in the middle but 4 years later, he agreed to finally read it (he gave up asking me to read it to him) and deemed it "creepy". Yeah! So Stephen, I want to thank you ever so for teaching me. Gratefully yours, Beth
