Pulpy adventure stories in the main, with big beasties, men with guns, occult detectives, lost worlds, things from beyond, slime, ghosts, more beasties and more slime. And beer. I have 20 novels and over 300 stories published in the likes of Dark Regions Press, DarkFuse and Chaosium with many more still to come. And did I mention beer?

There's a thread about Scotland being a great place for stories. I thought I'd mention here that I'm a Scotsman, and that I write a lot of my stuff set in the auld country. My newest, out now, is a wee creepy haunted house thing set on the island of Skye if anyone is interested... it's in hardcover and ebook.

Another of GRRM's early books that I enjoyed was The Armageddon Rag. I list is as one of the three best rock-and-roll horror novels, along with Kill Riff by David J. Schow and Heart-Shaped Box.

It encouraged me to check out another Martin book that I didn't know: a sci-fi called Tuf Voyaging I'm trying to ignore it for a least a couple of days--I have a book to review--but it looks interesting as well.
