I highly recommend it. Truly, Mr. King makes writing less esoteric and more autonomic....like breathing. This is silly, but, when I was just old enough to read...I knew I wanted to be a writer. I wanted to make the magic that authors make. I was always afraid that my words wouldn't be meaningful enough, that readers wouldn't see the world that I was trying to paint for them. I compared myself to the greats....Shakespeare, Keats, Hemingway...quite the defeatist approach. Why so brave now? I was told by a stranger that I had a book inside me and that it would be a sin against God if I didn't write it. Then I read, On Writing. Mr. King made it doable....and so I will. It may be only to satisfy my own soul, but I will do it. If my dad were still around, I would have had a good chat with him about the endeavor. Mr. King was available in his stead. Read it. You won't regret it.
