Ditto.... very proud of you!Well done, @skimom2!
philosphical question or cute? What's a writer?
lolWell, I am both, to be humble.
Someone who can enter many worlds, reveal small bits, and relay those glimpses to others. Someday, I may be published. Right now, I am learning to put time into writing every day. It is addictive too. What's a writer?

Me too Ghost; mine comes out like a list of facts. But found by writing for a while each day, it seems to be more smooth.Been writing reports too long. Everything I write reads like stereo installation instructions. "Subject 1 yelled blah blah blah after hitting subject 2 with the beer bottle, blah blah blah."...lol
Especially when the bell 'dings' because that means you just finished another row of words!Me too Ghost; mine comes out like a list of facts. But found by writing for a while each day, it seems to be more smooth.
Passed an old fashioned typewriter at the thrift store the other day. The kind with keys, that made lots of noise when typing. Looked as if some Homer threw it out of an upper window after trying to spray paint it white. If it had been in working order, I would have bought it. There is something really romantic about that sound.

Welcome back, Baggy.I've been away from this forum for a while, it's changed . I've had 3 e-books published by an indie publisher, each book has 5 short stories featuring the same MC who is a psychic detective. I'm currently working on book 4, then they might all be put into print as a collection. I should be getting my first (very small) royalty payment soon. I still find it hard to call myself a writer though
Well... the dollars couldn't hurt.I have a family filled with writers, artists and musicians, and I've always considered myself a bit of a wordsmith. One of these days I'll get around to stringing enough words together and attempting to get myself published. There's always been this nagging voice in the back of my head that keeps asking me why I haven't done so yet. I keep telling it to back off and I'll do it when I'm ready. How long does it take to be ready though? You'd think 32 years would be plenty of prep time.
Then again, do you have to be published to be a writer? Is it a matter of recognition or the simple act of turning your thoughts into written word?
