Yesterday we got rain then an a few inches of snow to make our totals for the two day event a nice 14 inches. Then last night we had lightning! I've lived in Wisconsin for 50 years and I've heard thunder a couple of times in later winter, March, but never had lightning. With the snow covering the ground the lightning lit up the yard like a strobe light of the brightest light you ever saw! It was soooo weird!

2 things I love about weather - heavy snow and watching a thunder & lightning storm, the 2 together, that must be awesome.

In England right now we are getting horrible bursts of rain and gale force winds from 40 mph upto 70 mph, and even 90 in Scotland. I just rode half a mile on my bike, I've never had to work so hard just to move - the wind was directly in my face. On the way back I hardly even had to pedal, I mostly coasted home on the tail wind.

Has snowing on/off since noon. The temperature is about -2C/28F
Please be safe everyone. Pets I usually do the same, when we have lost power, I walk into a room and try to put
lights on, wonder why they not work and remember that we not have power.

Ha ha, so it's not just me then? When a light blows and trips all that floors lights, I always open up the metre box, realise I can't see what switch has tripped so try to turn the light on to see. What a dumb ass!

Here are some previously Hurricans in Germany
Orkan – Wikipedia
the Hurricane Wiebke with the highest speed was March 1990
but Hurricane Kyrill in February 2007 made a whole lot more destruction, some power poles were broken
