How's The Weather?

I've heard of other plants growing in the compost pile...tomatoes for one. Potatoes seem possible, too. Really, any plant is possible if the right ingredients have been tossed into the pile. I recall a small watermelon one year, 'bout the size of a cantaloupe. Beware of what the chipmunks plant though as you might wind up cute and not have to work for a living. People ask what you do for a living you say nothing, I'm cute.

Well - that's different - I used to be cute and I have been working for 35 years - oy vey !!

I just had a good look - went out and watered it - turned out to be just a potato lying on the surface and the eyes had sprouted.

So now I am back to buying them at the grocery store - 5 lbs for 3.99?

Saw the first red leaf today. Some brown and yellow ones have appeared but this was the first red one. But most of them is still green but its gonna go fast from now one. October is beautiful but in november the trees look like tombstones over nature. It is gloomy!!!

It was unseasonably warm for all of September, it's 5c as I speak, and my St Bernard just farted...........Whoa that's pungent.....oh and next weeks lows creep below zero.

Hey there - I'm posting from my phone. It went down to minus 1 Celsius last night I know - could be worse - could be minus 40 with a windchill. Still nice during the day but winter is coming on!

So funny you said that! It's a running joke in my family when it rains, "Look! I think I saw a balloon in that gutter!" LilMan laughs...but he's wary of the sewer holes even when it isn't raining. And he's never seen the tv show or read the book! It's just from hearing about sewer clowns from the rest of us--lol.

We're getting drenched here, too. I came home early to work the rest of the day as there was worry about how bad it would be at the regular commute time. Felt a little like hydroplaning in a couple spots but just briefly so made it home without incident.
