It's been raining fairly constantly for 8 days, now. Had a small dry spell of a couple of hours yesterday and this morning. I was able to check the oil in the car....which is a good thing, because I have a leak, and needed to add about half a quart. The lawn guys were able to cut the grass this morning, even though the grass was still wet.....and I fussed at them because they have left some of the trimming undone the last few times, and it looks bad....so they had to go back and trim what they had left the last few times.
No end of the rain in sight any time soon.....possible 10 more inches over the weekend. Bridges are out in several areas. Mall parking lot is now a pond. I had water come up through the basement floor last night.....thankful that I have a basement, and the main living area is dry. Today is fourth Monday......tomorrow will be TGIF, even with the rain. I'm looking into buying a boat....and a sunlamp. I think the weather has affected my mood.
Hey Sunny! I've seen there have been mudslides, etc. out there. Hope you stay safe!

Map automatically updates, so keep checking. The track is constantly changing. Wouldn't hurt to make a repair to generator if you can. It should weaken the further north it travels. Cat 3 now, increasing to 4.
The generator weighs a ton. I haven't found anybody to make house calls yet. It may just be water got mixed in with the gas. I'm going to siphon the gas out this weekend and put new gas in, and add oil. Hopefully that's all it needs.

Don't like the sound of this at all. Are you inland enough (away from Joaquin) and have a place to go that is high enough to stay with friends or family if needed? Worried about you...........

Take care. You have a pump for the basement to get the water out? I have an extra pair of chest waders I could send you (I didn't know they made them in women's shoe sizes when I ordered them :()

If you do find water in the tank use a blow dryer to dry the tank out then flush the line with FRESH gas. Don't forget to pull the plug and either clean it or replace it.

Thanks for the advice. How does one flush the line with fresh gas... choking it? And I will change the plug, although it does have an electric start.

Does the engine have a primer button you push before starting? If yes, when you put the fresh gas in prime it until you see the gas drip out of the bottom of the carburetor assembly. Don't worry about flooding it, it may take a few more pulls or turns with the starter is all. And yes choke it when starting it up. Half or all the way choked. The choke restricts the air-flow into the carb. not the fuel. When you see the gas drip out check its color using a white paper towel to look for impurities in it and let it drip a bit to get them out if you see any (rust, dirt etc.).

Thanks. No primer button.

No biggie, just remove the clamp where you see the gas line go into the carb and flush it that way. Or you could pour some fresh gas where you pull the spark plug. No primer? That must be hard to start when it is cold out. Thankfully it has an electric start to save your shoulder.:D
Thanks. Actually, in addition to a pull cord, it has a battery startup that you charge with electricity.
