Well, apparently the remnants of the storm gave cause for the first ever tornado warning in my area.....

According to data compiled by WataugaOnline.com pertaining to tornadoes in the High Country, Sunday’s Tornado Warning by the National Weather Service (NWS) was the first ever warning for Watauga County. For a more detailed look at the tornado data visit this link. Neighboring Caldwell and Wilkes counties had confirmed reports of tornadoes.

I thought the rain sounded like it was hitting the house from the side, not falling straight down, but thought it was just because the wind was blowing harder than usual. Several areas were flooded and some roads were closed. My basement had a little water come in, but nothing major as of yet. I'll try to post some photos.

thankful you are safe. Any area on the east side of the storm is prone to Tornadoes.

We had only one tornado scare and not nearly as much rain as first predicted. I'm thankful for that because our street turns into a river at the mere mention of a storm, haha. Also, the light was a weird yellow and pink this evening, watching the storm move northeast. Barred owls were hooting...very odd before night time.
Glad you are safe. Watch the street flooding.

This happens every year around this time of the month (mid October to late October) - just a taste of what's to come in winter when we can go down to minus 40 C with the wind chill

Are you OK? Hope no damage your way. Prayers for all involved. Terrible weather year.
I'm okay. The basement flooded, but that's really expected, and I have it much better than a lot of folks here did.
I was taking my daughter to dance class, and had to drive through a badly flooded area. If I had still had the Subaru, I'd have been stuck because it was much lower to the ground than the Nissan is.

Many prayers for all. Please be very careful in flooded streets. Never can tell what might be under the water. Thankful you are ok. Do you have a pump for your basement? My folks did up north.
