Three inches of snow forecast for tomorrow, Saturday. And with my excellent planning skills my new snowblower will be assembled and ready to pick up on Sunday.

Hey, Charms, I have cousins in Bastrop. Is that far from you? She said they are covered up in snow and only two days ago had the air conditioner on.
Snow here tomorrow too. They are saying a few inches. Looking forward to the live coverage starting a 4 am with the rulers and a thousand reporters in different areas, with a few flakes falling. Show us the salt trucks again!

Bastrop is near Austin. It snows far more frequently there for some reason. I have a 14 year old grandson who had no memory of snow because when it snowed the last time he was about 18 months old. Very rare here. It's a huge deal. We don't cope very well with the white stuff. I'm surprised schools and businesses are open today. People go crazy. Lots of automobile accidents in sleet and snow because there are no allowances made. The trick is knowing when to stay home and under the warm blankets!

Now see, if you are going to report about snow, and I have to watch - I want this.
It’s complicated. I purchase mailbox parts as needed. The original owner of our house was a nincompoop when it came to the mailbox. Every time it was taken out by skiers he selected a new spot and put one up with cement. Almost the entire area where the mailbox must be located the post holes are filled with cement and would take forever to dig out. So I’m left with a little area of virgin ground space. So I use mailbox anchors and 4”x4” lumber posts. That way I only need to pull out the anchor or replace the posts and continue to use the same spot. New mailboxes fit over the lumber posts. The last two times the mailbox was taken out I had to replace the anchor and then the lumber post and numbers on one side. The actual mailbox is still functional although in rough shape. It’s held together with screws, cable ties and duct tape. And the red flag is gone which indicates mail should be picked up. Since we take our mail to send out down to the post office don’t need the flag. I don’t think it will survive another hit by drunk skiers. Next time I think I’ll get one in green to piss off the people on my road. Everyone had black mailboxes when I bought my house. The first time it was taken out I put up a tan one. Then everyone started to get tan ones so they would all look the same. Time to make them switch to green, methinks.And when does your new mailbox arrive?......or do you just order them by the dozen these days?
If the snowstorm is a nor’easter then that three inches will be more like six inches because the storm will stall at the mountain I live on and dump twice as much on me. Three inches I will probably just shovel unless it’s heavy snow, then yes, I’ll use a snowblower. I revel in my wussiness.You need a snowblower for three!!!! inches of snow? Wuss.
