Nearly 80° on Saturday afternoon, down to 24° this morning after a cold front swept through late yesterday afternoon with lots of rain and wind. Wind advisory for tall vehicles this morning and the chance of a good dose of freezing rain tomorrow morning -- the kind that hangs from wires and trees. All very dependent on a 2-3° range of temperatures overnight.

If you don't like the weather, wait five minutes. Jeez!

It's maybe -33 here today. It was minus 35 when I woke up, but minus 15 in the garage. Then driving to the hairdressers the truck temperature said - 33.

Got my roots done, but had no time for a haircut so now I have to figure out how to style my hair before going to work.

I am usually just a wash the hair and then go out type of girl (I have a nice parka with a fur hood to cut the wind chill).

Neesy, all you need to do is wash your hair, step outside, instant perm.

All weekend we hovered around -25 with the wind chill and we got around 5 inches of snow. This morning we are at 25, with a high of 48. Hopefully that is the last bitter cold snap we get. I do expect we'll still get more snow though, late March/early April is usually when we get some pretty good storms.

Tina, I am glad to hear that you didn't get that much snow. I hope everyone else had minimal amounts too. We got maybe 4". Wishing everyone good weather ( at least warmer with no more snow) and a safe day.

I made it to work this morning but then when I went to put money in the meter for my car I slipped in the snow and fell on my arse in a pile of snow - oy vey - a passerby asked if I was okay and I told him, yes thanks for asking. (I did not sprain my 'sacroiliac") lol

Now I have this dumb canker sore (NOT a cold sore) and I am reading it is either due to stress or perhaps the medication I am taking suppressing my immune system.

boy oh boy - sorry to complain but I wish this winter would just let up a little! (Praying for a nice mild spring to arrive soon!)

... I slipped in the snow and fell on my arse in a pile of snow ...

Ooooh, yeah. Going across a parking lot to a meeting. There was a wide patch of ice with a sheen of water. Okay. I can do this. I stepped on the ice very gingerly, very carefully, keeping my laptop/equipment bag close, and it didn't matter. The feet slipped, I tried to gain my balance, which only made it worse, pinwheeled, and bam! flat on my back.

I got up very quickly, partly because I splashed into the ice-cold water, but mostly because I wanted to look around and see if anyone saw me. A couple women about 30 meters away were looking, probably expecting the old guy to have a broken hip, and I just shuffled off the other way.

Got to the meeting. Brand-new client. My ass was soaked from the water, and as it turned out, my collar and tie had become mostly separated. Lovely.

I was stove up a bit the next day, but honestly, I think that falling flat on my back with the thick jacket on actually spread the shock around and kept me from getting hurt.

Wow - be careful out there! (I love that expression "I was stove up a bit the next day") Cool use of words there @Grandpa! :encouragement:

This reminds me of the scene in "Hearts in Atlantis" where the student who was disabled yet so independent ends up on his back in the freezing cold, slushy water

It is 2 degrees right now. No school again today. Kaden is loving that. I think we got about 5 inches of snow. I was supposed to go to see the surgeon who did the robotic surgery, but I'm going to have to reschedule one more time. I called yesterday, and they weren't open either. All I got was the answering service.
