This doesn't make me mad in a meaningful way. More exasperated I guess.
So, I was watching one of those reaction to music videos on YouTube. The premise is people who have not heard a song before listen and give their opinion. It can be entertaining to see people react to songs I'm familiar with for the first time.
This particular series is people's reactions to punk rock music. The song in question is Black Flag's
Rise Above. Another song released almost 40 years ago that is more relevant than ever. Check it out if you like punk and have never heard it.
Anyway, after these two people have finished listening to the song the woman says "The first ting that strikes me is that this a protest set to music." Duh! Thank you Madam Obvious. That's exactly what punk is. It's all a protest of one form or another. If you are going to be commenting on a specific music genre, know something about it so you can at least speak intelligently about it
