I've spoken to him 'through the ether' (as Slink used to say). He is, shall we say, disbluntled. Tis not my place to explain; rather, I'll substitute his wit by delivering a spot on impression of our missing comrade:

....then he needs to get "Unbluntled"....if he's following his usual pattern, he's sulking because he got told something he didn't want to hear, so he took his toys and left....I'm not being a jerk about this, just calling out what I have observed of past episodes of this type of behavior....
