I am happy today because we got (and are continuing to get) our first appreciable snow. We had a dusting on Thanksgiving, and that was cool, but it's piling up now and -- for the time being -- I like that.
It will become annoying very soon, but for the moment it's very comforting (mostly because I'm not going out in it). I like the first snow. Maybe some of you do, too. Oh ... sure ... I know: We always say the same thing. How come people who live in places where half the year is winter suddenly forget how to drive the first time it snows each year?
Those people will annoy me later, but they're not annoying me right now. Right now the snow is clean and new, and what on earth -- I ask you -- is better than clean and new? New snow speaks to me of quiet, for some reason (and I do so love the quiet). I don't know why that should be. What it really brings is chaos, mostly, but again, that is for later.
Right now I'm happy with the snow. Later, there will be snowmen (and snow-women ... and snow kids).
I'm happy about that, too.
How are you?
