...you haven't said where the ink will go, but I would avoid it in the "tramp stamp' area or your butt cheeks-Cher owns that look, but a shoulder piece?....that would be nice, and the look is timeless-plus, the way it's designed, you can add to it later as well...like maybe some Bob Mackie diamond highlights....

I could never get a tattoo, because I can't think of anything that I would want to look at forever on myself.
It's weird enough to look at the same ol' face in the mirror every day.
That being said, I like the way this looks--very simplistic and 70ish.

...I'd rather look at your face in the mirror instead of the wrinkly, graying one that glares back at me...

I am actually getting it on my lower calf, like the pic of my other tattoo! And that's a really good idea. :D I may have to think of something to add to it later on.

She is gonna be in Seattle at the Key Arena :p

You're not the only one afraid of needles. I'm a paramedic and put IV's in people all the time. You wouldn't even believe how many of the guys who look and act the toughest are utterly and starkly terrified of needles and any hospital test you can give them, even if it's an EKG (I'm also an EKG technician), which does nothing but take a picture of what your heart's doing.
This one guy asked so many questions that his girlfriend finally said "You act like she's fittin' to kill you."
He grumbled a defense and she just rolled her eyes.
I had to work double-time to NOT laugh right out loud at that point.
One guy I needed to give an IV to was a biker, and I had to wait until he passed out before I could do it because he refused it.
Once they pass out 'implied consent' takes over and I can start the IV.
I find that phenomenon of big, tough guys fearing needles to be amazing.

That's hilarious!!! I hate needles, but the sooner it is done. The happier I am. I hope this tattoo doesn't take to long. Cause I am super terrified :(

Weird, huh? I've not been one to advance fearlessly into the realm of pain, but needles have never bothered me. Giving shots, donating blood, whatever, sure, go ahead and puncture. Although you do have to appreciate the people who are smooth and nearly painless about it. Probably helps that I have good veins.

Anyway, the tattoo. My sensibilities are with Danie, but if you like it and its meaning is significant to you, then you do with your body what you want. I'd suggest not having a face or neck tattoo, just in case you're applying someday to be in a work environment that frowns on that, but that's my paternal side talking.

You're too kind.
I just look back on myself at 20 (I'm 50 now), and think of what I might have had tattooed on myself that would be growing old by now.
I liked french fries a lot then, and Big Macs. I listened to Amy Grant...can't stand her now. How awful would I feel now if I had to look at Amy Grant eating a Big Mac on my shoulder forever? You may think rainbows and unicorns are rather silly when you're my age...just sayin. I would put a lot of thought into whatever's going to be permanently stamped on your body.

I have been obsessed with Cher since I was 3, so 17 years later I am still going strong. :D <3 So I am not worried 30 years from now. I was concerned about getting it on my arm, so that's why I chose to get it on my leg. Just in case it would prevent me from getting a job. (I doubt it would, with all the people who are arm tattoos now a days.)

I guess even some of us non-ink types think about it even if there's no intention of getting one. I think of the Pink Floyd prism icon or a scorpion, not because I'm a Scorpio, although I am, but just because it would be interesting. If I got words, it would be something like, "Nothing unreal exists," or, "Nothing is absolute." I'd proofread the stencil carefully, though. It'd be mortifying to go through life with a permanent misspelling (and yeah, I know that it's been done).
