I read Stephen King's book: "On Writing - A Memoir of the Craft." Stephen King gave a short story assignment of a ex-wife trying to kill her ex-husband. The purpose of this assignment was to learn to write without an outline. It was only suppose to be five pages long. I took on this assignment. Well ... 93,000 words later, I completed my first novel. I couldn't stop writing, and I never used an outline. If I didn't know what was going to happen, either would my readers.
It is called "Father Forgive Me" by R.P.Wolff. In addition, to the ex-wife trying to kill her ex-husband, the ex-wife also concocts a scheme to extort money from priests.
In his book, Stephen King specifically asks for the readers to let him know how the assignment went. So, I am writing to let Stephen King know that it went very well, and he has inspired me. Thank you for giving the plot for my first book.
