I have heard this line here before and now I will use it.

I have been trying to finish needful things for like a year. So far it is the ONLY SK book that I have picked up and put down. ONLY because I can't stay into it. I read it when I run out of other stuff to read then Find something else by SK to read, read that, then pick up Needful things again. I probably have around 50-100 pages left. I will finish it only out of respect for the author but I have to say it doesn't move me in anyway......

Let the ANGRY responses begin (I am wincing away right now aaaaaaaaaah)

I have had books that I just could not finish. Lisey's Story, for one. Can't do it. I tried so many times.
And it is his favorite.

But then again, I have picked up a book that I could not finish, read it again - and loved it.
I guess it is your state of mind at the time.

not_nadine -- wait another 5-10 years. You'll understand Lisey's Story. You are correct, it has to have a meaning within your own life. I get why it's his favorite. Heads my list too.

The movie Needful Things was a favorite of mine before sK himself was. I think you're at a crossroads now: finish the book or rent the movie.

Tommyknockers was like this for me.
Well that is just blasphemy!

Then again the entire bias with age thing comes to mind because I had tommyknockers tommyknockers knockin at my door...... Scared into my head as a child. Therefore loved the book when I read it as an adult. I should really let my brothers know how letting me watch super scarey movies as a small child scarred me for life. MUHAHAHAHA

I would ask him if he has Ohio Prison Yeti traps set in his kitchen. I would also ask him if he has been lucky enough to have some of Moderator's fresh rhubarb pie.

I already asked him if he knew that possum was the other white meat. He did. But of course I got NO credit for clearing that up amongst The Office crowd. And they wonder why I am a cynic...

Well thanks! You're just oddball enough to be pretty awesome yourself, m'lady! <bows>

I really did ask him that, though. And I, indeed, got no credit. But, following sage advice, I did add it to my resume.
How could he not know it? He sees the bumper sticker with that on my bulletin board every time he comes into my office and, yes, I did tell him where it came from along with my canned unicorn processed meat. ;;D

I said I added it to my resume. But when I asked he had no idea. I think it took a bit to piece it together. Maybe having a few thousand faces pass by you in 3 hours' time causes that...? Plus the real truth didn't work for my clever joke, now did it?

And the pie? Yeti traps (which you KNOW he needs)? Enquiring minds want to know!

No pie (cooking for the boss is not on my resume) and no Yeti traps--inside the house anyway. ;)

Ahhhh, yeah that makes sense. He was awfully enamored with the fence and that thing can be LETHAL!! :)

In all these years, not once did a pie make its way to a potluck or what have you at the office and subsequently into the piehole of one Mr. King?? I am not sure if I believe that, little lady!

I really have no serious questions that haven't been answered by watching you tube videos or something. It is kind of sad because it like shutting down that curios part of my brain on the subject. Like when you are a kid and you slowly but surely are allowed to travel farther and farther down the street and eventually there is no adventure left. That is why I came up with that off the wall question about being stranded on a deserted island.... I just have nothing relevant to ask. I think it would be cool to know the answer to that one though (about the island) I personally would pick guitar:beaten: because if need be I would write in the sand with sticks. The problem is WHAT IF A STRING BREAKS AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

Oh yes, but the place from whence it came is even better. It was brought forth from the clutches of the evil Mexican Devil Penguin (El Diablo Penguino de Mexicano), saved by the Keeper of Octopus Volcano and safely stored within "La Caja de Mysterio" until its opening.

What's inside the can is also a bit of a hoot... :)
