She is pushing nine years old. As an American Eskimo she should have several years ahead of her. We're going to do whatever it takes to make sure she's comfortable, she's like my third daughter.
I understand. Like Spidey said: prayers to St.Francis.
I hope & pray your daughter, who was injured so badly awhile back, is doing alright. Haven't forgot about that.

Thanks GNTLGNT. Those are wise words and good advice. Right now I am just letting everything sink in and, starting next Monday, I will dust myself off and see what the future will bring. I am not set financially but am better off due to my longevity and severance. I think I may have a few beanie babies in a box in the basement from the days when the grandkids had sleepovers. Maybe those will be worth a couple of million by now. :)
....you'll make it happen Mal.....but don't count on TY.....those babies tanked long ago.....

Thanks Dana Jean. I hope you are right. Right now I've got my sights set on ditch digging or dishwashing. Although I've been in the corporarium for over 25 years I always found more honour and truth in the trenches.
"Better" positions are so very often found in the least expected places.
Expect the best that you deserve. You will not be disappointed.
Chin up Mr. mal. :)

I'm bummed today because I just got released from the company I've worked for the past 15 years. The shares were dropping like flies and I was one of the few that got sent west. I'm both scared and excited, but still in shock. Hopefully I'll be able to land on my feet. I'll be 58 this year and I suspect the competition is fierce out there. Considering retirement but need to seek council before any decisions are made. Maybe I'll celebrate/drown my sorrows as a first step. :smile-new:
I guess I'll need to re-memorize my math times tables in order to be more competitive. Maybe I should just quit...no...wait...they already let me go...forget that last line. I think that at the end of the day it's...well...fair.
Oh no! I'm so sorry mal... this is terrible! Please know I'll be thinking of you and I fully believe that you will find something appropriate and 'just right' for you now. Maybe a brand new vocation, something you've always wondered 'what if?'
You are smart, and hilarious and a super lovely person, there is an employer out there that is going to score big from this change!

Our dog Miska had a grape-sized growth removed from her leg two weeks ago, we went in to have the stitches removed and got the biopsy results, she has a form of cancer called a soft tissue sarcoma. We are pretty upset but there is some good news: it's the least aggressive form and least likely to metastacize, but we're going to have to keep a very close eye on it because they weren't able to get all of it out, due to how close it is to a blood vessel. If it comes back, we'd have to decide whether to go radiation or amputation, but there's always a chance it won't come back.
(((Bob, family and Miska))) thinking of you all, positive healing vibes for your lovely pup.

I hope Uncle mal shows up today, and is feeling alright.

Hey Sunshine :)
Do you have any pic's of your blue gourds/squash?
Are they known by any other name?
Been looking around on line, and having a tough time figuring out which variety they are.
Do you want the "Meteor S#17" cocktail to be electric blue, like the liquid in Jordy's Meteor?
Or neon green like the triffid moss that grew all over everything?
Take your time and holler at me whenever you want. :)

I have blue raspberries. I think the blue gourds are OoO's, or The Giant's, or Fljoe's, or Dio's......and probably fictional, unlike my raspberries, which are 100% real and do exist :biggrin2:
Oooh yes, electric blue Meteor Sh#t cocktail would be fabulous!!!
