Heck I'm ready to go see this thing again tomorrow, if it weren't for work. I am definitely going back to the cinema for this.

And I just want to make a quick point about the "damsel in distress" trope that some have mentioned.

Pennywise captured Bev because It thought she was the weakest, and also It knew she was the perfect lure for the rest of the gang. That was It's biggest mistake, underestimating our little Winter Fire.

I actually disagree with this. I think Pennywise went after Beverly because IT knew she was the strongest, since she was the only one of the group to muster the gumption to physically attack him. I think IT hoped her capture would demoralize the others, causing them to fragment and become easy prey while IT worked on Beverly to break her down to the point that she'd be frightened enough for IT to consume her.

Drooling and twitching!! YES!!!

Well, if the kids as adults fail, there's only one person left to save us from IT.

After all, he's beaten another version of a Stephen King villain already...

Yeah, I can dig that.

Just came home from seeing IT! Good seats, good company, and a terrific movie! I stayed 'til the bitter end of the credits so I could listen...it was superb! I cannot say enough about it but do not have the fancy flowiness of the words to do so, and others have already done so. Suffice it to say that dagnabbit it was good. And I'm critical gol darnit! Cannot wait for the DVD so I can more fully study some of the backgrounds and settings. Filmed in Canada too!

Loved it, loved it, LOVED IT!!! :applause: :applause:

Pennywise was awesome. I thought he did an excellent job both paying homage to Tim Curry (his voice, mostly. I thought he sounded a lot like Tim Curry sometimes) yet making this Pennywise his own. The kids, oh my gosh. Sooo good! How pretty is the girl playing Beverly? I loved Eddie Spaghetti, he was so great, and a cutie patootie himself. Wish they would have called him Eddie Spaghetti. Missed Beep Beep Richie, too...I think it would have been easy enough from context for non readers to understand that's how the Losers said, shut up Richie! But, when Pennywise finally said it, it was cool. Bill's stuttering was much more believable than in the original.

I had such a great time. Our theater is a 6 screen, IT was playing on 2 of them. We were 20 minutes early and there was a line already, and everyone was there for IT...they called that they were seating 2 other movies and no one moved out of line. ;-D

There was a red balloon tied right outside the door that said I ♡ Derry on it. The two guys in front of us were considerate enough to ask us if their heads were in the way. One of them kept me giggling the whole time, he was a jumper. ;-D

I heard a lady say at one part, Don't touch it! Made me laugh. Sounded like the same lady, at the end, when it said Chapter 1, she said, oh I saw that coming. There was lots of cheering at that, too. Made me wonder how many had actually read the book or even seen the original movie. Lots of cheering and clapping as the credits rolled.

But, the best part of the shared experience....you know how they have an usher or whatever walk through to make sure everyone is behaving? Well, the person walking through was wearing a yellow rain slicker and carrying a red balloon! :applause::applause::applause: Scott didn't even notice. Ha! I saw the balloon first, and when they walked by I almost clapped my hands. I said to Scott, Did you see that? He didn't have a clue what I was talking about. Even though it distracted me from the movie for a second, it was a cool distraction.

I loved it. It was a great night in my little corner of the world! :D
