It looks as if he had plenty of options to go around her but I guess he wanted her to move over. I was thinking about this today and I'm just glad he didn't hit anyone head on because he crossed over to the other side of the highway when he lost control, that could have been real horrible.

When he did try to go around her she speeded up.

I'm sure by now his lawyer has seen the film. What Karma didn't take care of maybe the courts will. (That laugh will play well in court too.)

I think it was a laugh of relief. I'm sure there's more to this that not's on the vid. He could have gone around and on his way --he had the option to do that. But, truckers do that . . .they want you to move out of the lane; they don't want to go around. I know, I've dealt with this before. I have a feeling she has as well.

I think I would have laughed at the end too, even though it would have been wrong --I would have felt justified and you can't know how that feels unless you have gone through it --as I've stated, I have.

She probably felt like that woman that survived at the end of the original Texas Chain Saw Massacre movie. The one that survived being slaughtered . . .remember how she laughed?

I still say she had balls and brought attention to something that needs attention. The truckers want you to move out of the lane. Period. They think they are too good to go around. They have the bigger, badder, vehicle and you are not important enough to occupy a lane. You are nothing to them.

I will try to address all the points.

It's not cool to go slow in the passing lane.

It's not cool to speed up in the passing lane so people in the right lane have trouble passing you.

It's not cool to scream, gesture, move your vehicle to, and otherwise try to intimidate those whose driving habits you do not approve.

It's not cool to lose your temper on the road. You don't even know these people. Why are you letting them control your mood? Are you so weak and easily manipulated?

And karma at its heart refers to the yin-yang of the universe and the fate awaiting upon rebirth, and much less to on-the-spot balancing of the cosmic scale.

I hope that covered it.

If she was in the "passing lane" of a two lane (going one way) road and did not move to the right lane when another vehicle approached from behind her in the same lane, she broke the law. If it was a multilane (going one way) road, the law does not demand she move over, just common courtesy does. If he tailgated her, and otherwise harassed her, he broke the law or laws. It seems the whole thing was avoidable but for road rage, which both of them were guilty of.

I myself, being perfect, never ever lose it on the road. However, in the not too distant past, angels have had to work overtime on my behalf as I've driven homi- and suicidally. They're very pretty but they give you such a look, hoo!

And I assume driving one handed while she recorded it is OK too? In the video we see her provoking him. Maybe there is history, maybe not. Maybe she cut him off in the first place. We don't know what happened before.

But we do know she was going slow in the fast lane, she was using her phone while driving (illegal in many places, unsafe in all places), when he tried to pass her on the right she tried to prevent him.

The video proves all of that. And I hope she is found and charged.

Take two minutes to check this out . . .

I have not read any of the other responses yet (I have been away from the board for a few days) but here is my response:

1. Why was she going slow in the fast lane? Why did she not just pull over to the right to let him pass?

2. What is so funny about someone crashing?

3. I agree he was being an idiot by giving her the finger and not paying attention to the road.

4. Is this Karma? Really? He gave her the finger so he deserves to crash? - I do not think so!

He was riding her tail for a long time then passed her. (maybe I should go watch the video again)

Anyway I do sort of believe in "karma" but to me this is not karma, this is stupidity in action on both their parts. Good thing the guy in the truck did not cause an accident resulting in loss of life or a lifetime disability for another driver!

I keep seeing comments about truckers.....to me, a trucker is someone who drives an 18-wheel tractor-trailer.
This guy is driving a plain pick up truck. I don't consider him to be a trucker.
I think there has to be a history between these two drivers. There is very little traffic on the road. She could have avoided the entire thing by simply changing lanes to let the guy pass. Her laughter at the end was not due to relief....because she also yells that's what you get buddy, all on video too at the end....to me, her actions show malice.

I have to agree with Madam Mack with what she said. People have to realize that nobody owns the road it is for whoever wants to drive and just because you have a big vehicle don't mean anything that guy was probably used to people just doing w/e he says and he got heated because they were in "his lane" . people like that deserve to crash their preciouy car imo. I'm not saying i am a perfect driver or anything but some are really immature out on the roads.

Can't stand a bully.

I have to agree Sundrop - she should be charged with driving recklessly by videotaping while at the wheel (and if that is not a law, then it should be!)

Thank you . . .had she moved to the other lane, he only would have followed. They will ride your ass like that.

I can't stand a bully either. They are everywhere . . .the grown ones are the worst.

I am sorry this has become a big debate about people's driving habits, MadamMack - I know you just originally posted it to show how you felt frustrated with road rage

Up here in Canada (especially in Ontario when I was there) we had signs on highways that said "Keep right except to pass" or "Slower traffic keep right" so we knew to stay out of the left hand lane, especially if you are only going 50!

There will always be bullies like that on the road but all we can do is follow the rules of the road and stay safe!

It looks like this has become one of those dumb internet things with people debating. I think here on SKMB we can agree to disagree without hurting others feelings, so I hope you don't feel bad! :cheerful:

But driving while recording is ok?

And when he went into the right lane to pass and she speeded up is ok?

And is she driving below the speed limit in the fast lane? If so....is that OK?

If his vehicle hit someone else she would be as guilty as him for causing it. She provoked him.

Oh Nees don't be sorry . . .I'm not. My comments are from experience and we can disagree --I don't have a problem with that at all. It is being debated and I side with her.

Just because a camera was pointed at him, he's allowed to get away with this behavior? I think he was extremely scary and a total d-bag.

I am NOT saying what she did was right. If you see my original post on the subject, I wasn't that happy with her actions. But I'm surprised so many people are sticking up for a violent, grown azz man who should have just grown the hell up and got around her and gone on. If you have nothing to be guilty about, you shouldn't be worried that a camera is pointed at you IN PUBLIC.

And again, what she did is WRONG. But this man brought on his own misery. He should've looked at her and said, "wow, that woman is filming me. I'm staying away from her and she's not going to get anything worth seeing."

In fact, we should all act as if a camera is pointed at us at all times and ask ourselves when we start to act stupid, "would I want my grandma, or children, or mother, father, priest, bishop, boss, church congregation, co-workers, police, etc..etc.. seeing me act like a total aggressive d**k?"

This man was totally in charge of himself and how HE responded to what was happening. Just because she was being unsafe is no excuse for him to act the way he did. Waaaaa! Waaaaaa! I'm mad and I want around this lady, waaaaaaaaaaa! Grow a pair and act like a man with some brains. Act classy and intelligent and let HER be the unsafe idiot.

You are assuming he actually took the time to look close enough to see she was filming him. He floored it because he was po'd. If he deserved flipping his car....she deserved it too. And since she didn't and took such joy in watching what could have killed someone....I hope she gets hers in court.

Neither of them belong on the road. But if I took such joy in watching someone possibly kill themself I sure wouldn't be bragging and posting it online. And in that moment, she had no way of knowing how badly he was hurt.

Sorry, Riot, but in this case she was in his lane. The law demands she move over.
