I just bought a Kindle Fire recently and I have noticed that there seem to be a few of the members here that have the Fire too. On the Amazon site, there are thousands of apps to from (great and horrible) so I figured with this thread we could recommend the goods ones or tell people to stay away from the bad ones. I'll start it off with a fantastic backgammon game that I have:

It's called Backgammon and it's by AI Factory Limited - look for this logo

(I didn't post the link because I'm not sure if the link goes into my account :icon_eek:)

I think this is the best computer backgammon game I've ever had. This is a one or two player game with no internet play. There are 5 levels of difficulty and the dice rolls are the best I've seen (meaning that they seem to be completely random as opposed to many games where you can see patterns). If you think the computer dice rolls are not right, you can switch to a manual dice mode. The single player vs the computer mode has an excellent computer player (level 5). You can set up matches and play from 1 to 15 point matches. The game keeps detailed statistics on your play too. Highly recommended for backgammon players.

I'm in the Nook camp as far as tablets go but I think the Kindle Fire uses Google Play to get to Android market if I remember correctly. There is an Ereader app called "Aldiko" that is just great. Beats the tar out of the Nook ereader program that comes installed. Very customizable and the brightness setting can be adjusted by just touching the screen which is nice if your reading outside or in a dark room. Also, the Scrabble app is awesome.
