There was a poll on the old board about this. I think the places were narrowed down to the Stanley hotel in Colorado, Maine, and Mansfield Ohio where the Shawshank prison was filmed. Maybe those would be good locations to start with.
The Stanley does group rates and would be willing to accomodate a group like us. And depending on availability, there's the room where the band played in the miniseries, when Unca Stevie played the band director. They built the stage for that, and the stage is still there. That could be used for a buffet or banquet, or as a general meeting place.
That room is directly underneath the haunted guest room.

...I have connections to help get a tour arranged at the Mansfield Reformatory, and possibly a ghost tour as well....I can also work on accommodations with the VC Bureau there when and if I need to...

I love 1/2 price sales myself.
Much as I'd like to travel to Ohio and meet GNT and you other crazy guys and gals, just not able to get away for something like that unfortunately.
