This was in another thread but what the heck?
I was with the cat on this one. Kid shouldn't be hitting animals.
Then I watched the longer clip on youtube. The mom/parents let the cat play rough with the kid for some time. Cat's just playing, but kid is scared. That's why he lashed out at the cat. (I'm not current on my Russian[?], but mom might have told him to hit it.)
And then non LAUGHS after the kid falls. The parents get the FAIL on this one.

Hi LL. I'm not going to hit the 'like' button on this one as it has two things I don't like- a kid being hurt and a cat being hurt. Uh uh.

Yeah, while, if the event is a staged one the motive of whomever staged it can't be proved or disproven, that person's wisdom can safely be questioned since the cat was obviously already antagonized buy the time the camera started rolling. The video is another example of how easy it is for people to screw up their priorities.
I agree, the whole thing is an abysmal screw up.
1) the baby is crying and distressed--the adult has continued to allow the child to be in a situation of fear and pain.
2) the cat is just as distressed as the child.
3) The adult is laughing...!

Agreed. Kid shoulda punched mom. So should the cat.
