Has anyone taken a cat to be groomed at Petco or Petsmart? Would you share your thoughts please?
Dana Jean - not all Petco, Petsmarts store are the same. Suggestion- spend some time, different days, different times and just shop/look around at products while observing the grooming area. Just saying.........that will help you decide if you desire their service or not.

I used to work at PetSmart years ago. I was shocked and astounded to see them grooming cats and the cats taking it. I would never thought to do that. It seemed like an okay thing though. The cats were all pretty cool about it. I never ventured to take my cats out for grooming myself, I like my skin where it is.
I never heard of any fleas going home with pets, but I can see it happening.
Some vet clinics do nails and what for cats.
Check with YELP.

I'd probably go for the smaller option... ;;D

These cats are wonderful and smart as you please. They have a lot of energy though and if you don't keep them busy, challenged and amused they will make your life Hell. Chewing, jumping, clawing up stuff, bringing down households, you know the drill. They are not good to let outside on their own either, they tend to run for the hills never to be seen again. They are good leash cats though. You can walk them and they love it. It wears them out and keeps them from being bored with life. The Sherlock of domestic cats if you will.

I'll probably never be able to afford one, I just think they're gorgeous and I love the intelligence in them. I would want them to be in a fully enclosed indoor/outdoor type set up, so would need to be on some decent land.

Another dog scenario - had my girl groomed at PetSmart many years ago (her regular groomer wasn't available). She got an anal gland infection after the appointment. Don't know how much training those places offer, but I NEVER took her to a place like that again.

Crap. Both my kitties need groomed badly, I don't know where else to go.

Ah, too much work. Give me a good ol' American Domestic cat then.
