Checked out the DVD The Comedian from the library and watched it last night. What a stellar cast! Robert De Niro, Danny DeVito, Cloris Leachman, Patti LuPone, Edie Falco, Charles Grodin, Harvey Keitel. Leslie Mann was great in this movie - a real step up for her.

It was quite shocking to hear De Niro tell such vulgar, off-color jokes (many were very funny, but I am not easily offended). Dragged a bit in some parts, but overall I thought it was a good movie. (I seem to like it more than IMDb. :smile2: )

I'm sorry... (((Dana))) it was also very beautiful and inspiring... and... *sigh* yeah, very sad.

Don't feel bad... it is part of life unfortunately. xox
It's okay. I know that we all 'owe a death' at some point and with each passing year realize it even more so. Its' inevitable but most of us don't think about it or want to think about it. It comes closer with every second. Nothing we can do about it either. Except try to live our lives as best we can with as much love as we can, right?

Daina Scarwid co-starred in Mommie Dearest. Maybe that was the movie that made her the 'it' girl back then? Funny if it did because Mommie Dearest almost destroyed Faye Dunaway's career.
Gimme Shelter (1970). The Stones. Altamont. Hell's Angels. You know the story. I love when Keef goes, That cat there, if he doesn't STOP it, man...

Some great tunes, from the greatest rock band of all time. Got my DVR fulla some great sixties concert flicks. Next up, Monterey Pop. You know, when Jimi lit his guitar on fire? Oh yeah.

Holy crap, I hear cats fighting in the woods outside...if that cat THERE doesn't stop it, man...

I have never seen that movie but I'm gonna look for it, Ive seen some of the videos with the Hells Angels and that was crazzzy! I even got all off into the backstory of that, and a guy named Kenneth Anger :icon_eek: and always wishing I could ask John some things that he might know.

Wonder Woman.

We liked it. One of the few DC universe movies I have enjoyed. I think Grandma got a girl-crush on Gal Gadot. She (Gadot)(well, Grandma, too) sure is easy on the eyes, but we both thought she carried the role quite well.

The final confrontation was over-the-top silly for my tastes, but not enough to take away the overall enjoyment.

I had never heard of Don Glut until I watched this last night, but this is one of the most interesting documentaries (?) I've seen. The creativity and imagination of Don and his friends when they were in their early to late teens (in the 1950s, no less) is absolutely fascinating.
I lost count of how many times I said "Wow!" out loud (which is not something I usually do).
The film left me wondering how this guy didn't turn out to be one of the best directors in the business.

OMG I have to see this, I love Don Glut! He supposedly, prior to the Batman TV series, had the idea of making a film with Bruce Cabot a disillusioned, over-aged, alcoholic Batman, and Frankie Avalon as Robin! The guy's a national treasure. I need to track this down.

Deep Rising. A sea Monster movie with Treat Williams and Famke Janssen. Really big bad octupuses. Kind of like Alien on a cruiseship. Ok, better than the second shark movie i saw earlier. (and i blame Swiftdog for getting me in this mood and seeing three horror movies today)
