Hello All,
I have browsed this site a bit but was made aware that I needed to post a thread here when trying to post a reply to the question "List your 5 favorite authors". I am glad I could not post it because there are so many favorites I would have changed my mind by now.
To whom it may concern I started with:
Bernard Cornwell
Kenneth Roberts
Cormac McCarthy
Colleen McCullough
Ben Bova

and it is a good thing it was suggested to leave Stephen King of the list.

I do have a question, or more of a point of curiosity, It concerns the collaboration of Stephen King & Peter Straub on "The Talisman" and "The Black House". Both books contained more than a smattering of the "Dark Tower" universe along with "slippage" which has been a repeated principal of Mr. King's since I believe before either group of works were published. I am also a reader of a number of Peter Straub's books.

Can anyone who has read the "Black House" series give me a hint about some of Peter Straub's writing personality contained in the two books? I would not be so curious if it were not for the 17 year span between the two books. (all of which was during the "Dark Tower" series.

One of SK's Constant Reader who loves at least 100 other authors enough to prowled book stores for the last 50 or so years looking for the next new friend.
Thank you,
Dick Smith (believe it or not!)
