Been a strange week. First someone got into hubby's Jeep. Guess he learnt to lock it up. Might have been teens. As tools and valuable things weren't bother. But his work wallet was taken. It has the spare Jeep key in it. Told him bright place to keep it. They threw his family photos everywhere. Thing a teen knocks on the door with several pics of our son. he had found them just down the road. So we decided to make police report because of the spare key. That happen right here in the drive. Our dog was going nuts and was told to lie down as we heard nothing. Boy we learnt check everything out next time.
Then the next day hubby calls and can't get near work. The police had the road blocked. All the workers were directed to the near by McDonalds. The plant next to where he worked had an ammonia leak. So they got paid for a three wait.
The son received a red flag instead of his report card. Come to find out ,he was $1.35 short on his lunch money and it had to be paid before he could get it. Crazy they never notified us ahead of time.
Any body else have these kind of weeks?

Oh honey! What a miserable week you had! I call that kind of week a $h!+ Storm! Hunker down and stay calm. I was happy to read about good news on your eye! And your 60 book haul - woo hoo! So the week wasn't a total loss. Maybe you've found the elusive hard cover Gunslinger (or did you already find one?)

Hoping the coming week brings you happiness!

Thankful all safe and no one was hurt. As Holly said, thankful for the news concerning your eye, and a great book haul. May this week be better.

Hope things are getting better! My brother had his car stolen recently - from his own driveway. Insurance didn't cover theft. Now he has to continue making $10,000 worth of payments on a car he no longer has. :(

That's a crappy week if I've ever heard of one KFF.

My partner and I took a bunch of B&E to vehicle reports one time a long time ago all concentrated in a certain neighborhood. There were something like 12 vehicles broken into going right down the same street in a subdivision. One lady spent about 15 minutes yelling at us when we tried to tell her to please try to remember to lock her vehicle in the future as most vehicle break ins occur to unlocked vehicles. The reports mapped out perfectly. Every third or fourth house didn't have their vehicle broken into because it was locked. When we told the lady this, she went ballistic saying how she shouldn't HAVE to lock her vehicle and that if the police would do their job, there wouldn't be vehicle break ins. Apparently the police were supposed to patrol her neighborhood 24-7....not a very logical argument and matters weren't helped by my partner making the remark "Ma'am, this isn't Mayberry." I managed to keep a straight face and by some miracle she didn't call in and complain on him...lol She had a laptop, her purse.....AND a handgun taken out of her vehicle.....

I have wondered about this before, about whether it is advisable to lock your car to prevent thefts or not. I mean at your home, at least.

I always lock the car when I am away from home but rarely do so in my driveway. We had a rash of break-ins and thefts here in the last month or so (the people responsible have been caught) but they were simply breaking the windows to gain access if the doors were locked. Our police were saying not to lock the doors in order to avoid broken windows.

I don't leave anything of value in my car anyway, it is just something I've wondered about from time to time. One if those random thoughts, I guess. ;-D

You should always lock your car, no matter where it is parked. That Police Department is stupid, quite frankly.

I think car insurance requires the car to be locked to file a claim.
