Drew was great! George C. Scott as a Native American was some serious miscasting. I like him as an actor but I'd have rather seen someone more physical like Sonny Landham (from Predator), much more menacing...

Drew was great in this. But then I like her even in her bad movies.

I still would like to see a sequel to this one. Charlie all grown up, trying to hide her ability as she chairs the PTA and tries to live a normal life. A couple babies of her own, oh oh baby #2 has fried the cat because it scratched her, goverment gets a whiff of where she is and we're off and running again. :O_O:

Here's my post about the movie from the old board:

"I don't think I have seen this movie since it came out in the theaters back in 1984. Firestarter is one of my favorite SK books and I remember liking (not loving) the movie back then. I caught the last 40 minutes or so on cable last night and I have to say that Drew Barrymore was heartbreaking in it. Made me want to go back and watch the whole movie again soon."

Yup, Scott was HORRIBLE casting. I always pictured Cap something like Harry Morgan (M*A*SH*), but Martin Sheen has been a personal favorite since BADLANDS, so I didn't mind that one so much :)

Maybe my favorite SNL Bill Hader skit, as Peter O'Toole, and Drew Barrymore waxing nostalgic about the drunken golden age of Hollywood.

Drew: when my grandfather died, Peter Lorre stole the body out of the morgue so he and Errol Flynn could get drunk together one more time!

True story, I guess. If we are to believe Flynn's autobio, My Wicked, Wicked Ways....
