Hola!
What's a malaphor you ask?
Malaphor is an informal term for a mixture of two aphorisms, idioms, or clichés (such as "We'll burn that bridge when we come to it"). Also called an idiom blend.
For example
"You hit the nail right on the nose."
(A combination of "You hit the nail right on the head" and "That’s right on the nose.”)
"She really stuck her neck out on a limb."
("Stuck her neck out" and "went out on a limb") . . .
"I can’t make these split-minute decisions."(split-second; last-minute)
I like this one,
"We'll burn that bridge when we come to it".
Have you heard any cool or funny malaphors?
Thank you!
